Abstract Daffodil Flower Art: A Monochrome Study
This macro monochrome photograph captures the delicate beauty of a dried daffodil. I purchased the daffodils from the Cancer Council in August, where bright yellow blooms are sold to fund vital cancer research. In 2023, Daffodil Day raised $2.5 million for lifesaving research, and the daffodil remains a powerful symbol of hope for a cancer-free future.
Using a macro lens, I created an abstract image that evokes movement and fluidity—like a dancer’s flowing garments or the gentle roll of an incoming tide. The daffodil, often symbolising rebirth and new beginnings, is presented here in its delicate, dried state. The close-up view highlights the intricate lines of the petals, revealing a subtle, repeating pattern.
The second image offers a more representative view, focused on the stigma and surrounding corona, showcasing the flower’s organic form.
