Macro Flower Study: Tristellateia Australasiae

This journal entry features a black-and-white study of the Tristellateia Australasiae flower. Know by various names – Maiden’s Jealousy, Galphimia, Vine, Golden Rod, and the Australian Gold Vine – this flower is native to Australia and is commonly found from  Taiwan through Southeast Asia. In this macro flower study, I’ve captured the intricate details of this delicate flower, emphasing its natural beauty in a close-up view.

Benefits of Using a Macro Lens

The images in this post were taken with my trusted Canon 65 mm f/2.8 1-5x super macro lens, my go-to tool for capturing the fine details of small flora and fauna. This manual-focus lens allows me to work up close and magnify the tiny textures and structures of the flower, turning each shot into a botanical artwork. Its extreme magnification capabilities bring out details that are usually hidden to the naked eye, revealing the captivating intricacies of the flower.
