Monochrome Still Life Flower in Full Bloom
This journal entry features a still-life flower study of the Little Iron Weed flower.
I captured both the unopened flower heads and the open purple composite flowers with tufts of white hair.
Traditionally, this plant has been used to treat many ailments such as fever, respiratory disorders, skin conditions, and gastrointestinal diseases (Globinmed, 2010).
The still-life photos were taken in the studio using a macro lens. The original RAW images were shot in colour and later converted to black and white for publication. To explore more flower studies visit the Nature gallery.
